RODNEY

Rodney brings over 38 years of experience in law enforcement, corrections, and public service to the field. For over 40 years, he has trained and handled law enforcement K-9s, man hunting scent dogs, and sporting dogs. Rodney served as Chief of Police for Blountstown and as the lead officer for the K-9 team at the Florida Department of Corrections. He is also a firearms instructor and holds emergency first aid and trauma training certifications.

DAVID

David has 33 years of experience in law enforcement and public service. For the past 9 years, he has guided quail hunts on two commercial operations. David played a key role in starting up these businesses, managing risk and safety, habitat management, marketing, and hospitality. He served 12 years as Sheriff of Calhoun County and is a licensed helicopter pilot. David currently serves as the Director of the Board for West Florida Electrical Cooperative.

EXPERTLY TRAINED DOGS

At 4 Feathers Plantation, we understand the importance of exceptional pointing dogs in creating a successful and enjoyable quail hunt.  Our pack include German Shorthaired Pointers, English Pointers, and English Cockers. Our dogs undergo a rigorous training program designed to hone their natural instincts and develop the specific skills crucial for quail hunting success.

PROFESSIONAL DOG TRAINING SERVICES

Our comprehensive dog training program includes:

  • Retrieving: Teaching your dog to reliably locate and retrieve your birds.
  • Flushing: Training your dog to effectively flush out quail hiding in cover.
  • Obedience: Building a strong foundation of obedience commands for better control and communication in the field.

The program also provides all the necessary food and birds for training purposes. The cost of the program is $1,200. If you’d prefer to pick up your dog on weekends, we offer a discounted rate of $1,000.
